Karnataka Rakshana Vedike set up the first bronze Shanker Nag idol in front of the Gopalan Mall on Mysore Road. The statue of Shanker Nag was unveiled by super star Upendra on Wednesday night at 8 pm. Actor Ramesh Bhat a long companion of Shanker Nag when he was living was present at the statue inauguration.

Zamir Ahmed former minister of Karnataka government and JDS party politician was present with other members of Karntaka Rakshana Vedike. This is the first bronze statue of late Shanker Nag in Bengaluru.

Today is the 57th birth anniversary of the top actor, director and producer Shanker Nag who passed away 21 years ago in a road accident.
